How to make a DIY beaded jewelry?
Have you already checked out our bead selection?
At the DIY table in our store, you can create a phone charm, keychain, or even friendship bracelets. The sky's the limit when it comes to what your imagination can create with our beads.
"How can I start my bead project?" is one of the most common questions we receive. To make it easier for you to dive into this DIY hobby, we thought we'd create a little guide on how to get started. There are millions of ways to do it, but this is one that we recommend for beginners.

The beads are sorted by price, but the essential supplies you’ll need for beadwork can be used without any additional costs. It's a good idea to decide what your project will be before starting, so the crafting process goes more smoothly.
Once you’ve decided what your bead project will be, it’s time to choose your beads. At our bead station, we have different trays that can help simplify the design process. You can gather all the beads you like and arrange them in the way you prefer.
The next step is to choose the right thread. Currently, we have two types of thread: one thicker and firmer, and the other elastic. If you don't want to use any fasteners for your bead project, we recommend using the elastic thread to ensure that the bracelet or necklace can be easily put on.
We also have some beads that can be attached with a screw eye, like the one used in this project. Our staff is happy to assist you with this, so feel free to select the beads that speak to you. These same beads are also great for other crafting projects.
Once you’ve threaded your chosen thread through all the beads, it’s time to think about the fastening methods you’d like to use. While there are many options, we always recommend using bead tips (clamshells) or crimp beads to prevent your work from coming undone.
Crimp beads are used by placing them at the desired position, then squeezing them with a tool so that the thread no longer moves.
Congratulations! Now you have a customized, handmade beaded jewelry piece. Welcome to make summer jewelry with your friends or family at the store!
